What is the 6-8 Challenge?
The 6-8 Challenge is designed to take the basic measurements and the basic skills that a water polo player needs. It is designed on the water polo specifics. How you go over your hips, how you pass the ball, how strong your legs are, how explosive your legs are, how do you swim with the ball in a zigzag. These are relevant measurements to the game.

TESTS
12.5 METER SPRINT
Shows how quickly an athlete can move over their hips and sprint.
MEDICINE BALL HOLD
Tests an athlete’s pure leg strength.
VERTICAL JUMP
Shows how high an athlete can explode out of the water.
PASSING DRILL
Tests an athlete’s accuracy and arm strength when passing the ball.
OBSTACLE COURSE
Shows an athlete’s comfort level going over the hips and zig zagging with the ball.
RADAR GUN
Shows the speed of an athlete’s shot.
TWO BUOY
Shows how quickly an athlete can move over the hips and cover ground effectively without taking a stroke.
FOUR CORNERS
Evaluates the goalie’s full range of motion.
EIGHT TOUCH
Evaluates how quickly a goalie can continuously move laterally.
25 METER BREAST SPRINT
Shows a goalie’s skill in breaststroke and the breaststroke kick.
